The Pre-Arrival Processing System (PAPS) is a process using barcode technology to expedite the release of commercial shipments entering the United States at our U.S. borders.

TRUCK PRE-ARRIVAL PROCESSING SYSTEM

Carrier - pick up the freight. Place a bar-code on the invoice(s). Prepare the customs manifest (CF7533). Place a bar-code on the manifest. Fax a copy of the manifest and invoice(s) to our office.

Pyle CHB - will contact the consignee to obtain authorization to clear shipment. Once authorized by the consignee to provide the service, our filer code will be provided and the shipment entry documents will be entered through ABI. The carrier must wait for confirmation that the entry has been accepted by U.S. Customs before crossing the border.

Carrier should have 3 copies of the commercial invoice(s) and the manifest with bar-codes when he arrives at the U.S. border.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection will wand the SCAC/PRO bar-code at the primary truck booth. If an exam is not required the truck will be released at the time. If an exam is required the driver will be referred to secondary.
